inside structure and they demonstrated technical potencial of every firm. They have to

Slovnaft, JS Co. also belongs to refieneries which produce wide
assortment of lubricating greases with good quality. These classic sorts of greases are
based mainly on mineral oils and on wide range of thickeners which determineted the type
of grease as : aluminium, calcium, lithium and sodium greases.

characteristics of Lubricating Greases |
Base oil |
base oil is the major
component for producing lubricatig greases. It can be mineral, synthetic or vegetable.
Base oil forms 70 – 95 % of the final product. |
Thickener |
chemical compounds mainly
fatty acids and metals. Thickeners are used as gel formers in the production of lubr.

Consistancy |
penetration is measure of
consistancy of lubricating greases. NLGI number is a scale for comparing the
consistency (hardness) range of greases. Based on the worked penetration at 25°C. |
Dropping point |
the temperature at which
grease becomes soft enough to form a drop and fall from the orifice of the test
apparatures. |
Bleeding |
separation a liquid
oil from a grease. It is also measure of its potencial service or storage life. |
Oxidation |
a chemical reaction during
the absorption of oxygen. Oxidation stability determined resistance of petroleum products
to oxidation and therefore is also a measure of its potencial service or storage. |
